WIW -- Angie's Boyfriend Formula!

So far I have been wearing the bf jeans with more structured button downs and knit tops; but I decided to try to soften the look with this new silk blouse. To be honest I wasn't going to post this because it looked so much like another outfit I posted (only difference was the top and belt). But after Angie's post this morning, I thought I would put this formula up for review. The occasion was my day off on Tuesday -- some socializing with the girls as well as date night.

Picture 1 Outfit Details -- Jeans True Religion Missouri wash, silk blouse H&M sale rack, Bar III white base layer cami, Urban Outfitters gold twist belt, Report Marks taupe booties.

Picture 2 -- Exactly the same but with Lucky brand flat-ish sandals. They have a bit of a gold sheen, I love them, very comfortable. I wore the flat sandals half of the day, and the booties the other half. I felt the jeans looked better longer with the flat sandals, 5'3" me needed more leg lengthening.

Hmmm I like it, but I actually like the booties better. But it's probably very warm down there.

Both of these are so fab, and look how pretty you are with your hair back! I love this look and am so jealous of your ability to wear white!

Anna I agree this looks better with the Marks booties. They are a solid 3 hours standing shoe, or I would wear them for a day of shopping. I wore the Lucky sandals on a grueling 12-hour day, they passed the test! Got them at Macy's, I recommend them.

Una, can't everyone wear white? And thanks for the hair compliment! I actually grow my hair longer in the summer so it can be pulled back easier. Then in the winter I get a shorter bob.

I love this style of tuck with the jeans! And of course those are some great boots ;)

BTW I didn't know you are 5'3" - you look much taller in your photos :)

Ahh cool, comfort triumphs all. Unfortunately, we are so far away from sandal weather.

This is very Denise look to my eye and naturally I love it - I may even dare and have a go at copying this one. And like anna, I too prefer the booties look a bit more.

I also like your hair like this with the sunglasses.

    Sehr gut ;-)

Vielen Dank Ornella! Wie geht es?

OMG Anna, my toes would freeze in that weather!

Very laidback yet HOT! And Denise, I really had no idea that we're the same height - you look so tall and willowy :-)

I love these jeans more each time I see them. I really need to get myself a light wash version like these.

The blouse is beautiful with those jeans! Like others the booties add way more edge to the outfit but the sandals are still very pretty with it. I can't get over how petite you are. You look so much taller in your photos!

  • Angie replied 11 years ago

I LOVE the version with the sandals! A 10!

Love you in the ethereal white top - I am going to add those True Religion jeans to my wish list. But of course NAS will probably bump them down the list. You have definitely demonstrated their versatility!

Oh, this is lovely! I love those sandals, but those would be a heel for me! I'm glad they're so comfortable for you. The white blouse *is* ethereal! Great BF jeans tutorial, thank you!

    Fab & cool!

Cute look like Anna I prefer the booties and I reckon it would look cool with sky high heels for date night..

  • jayne replied 11 years ago

CL, this is perfection! Those BF jeans are just the right fit to me ...not so baggy that you lose femininity!

  • Inge replied 11 years ago

So glad you decided to post this anyway, Denise, you are one of my YLF boyfriend jeans wearing inspirational ladies!
I love both versions of this outfit, with sandals and with booties. And what a stunning blouse, it gives the ensemble a chic nonchalance and Summer crispness. Beautiful!
