WIW -- MaryK's copycat challenge

Picture #1 -- Old leather coat from 1995, new distressed True Religion jeans, Edmundo Castillo spike heeled, pointy toe shoeties, Limited white shirt via TJ Maxx, J Crew neon leather belt, red bracelet from Ideeli.

I never realize how many unpaved dirt and gravel roads I have to walk on until I wear these shoes.

Picture #2 -- Inspiration. http://blog.stylesight.com/street/denim-heels

Picture #3 -- What do you think about rolling the jeans a little more? I was having fun pretending I was in a mental institution in my (still) unfinished living room. (Now I understand why women hire contractors to remodel instead of having SOs do it.)

Thanks for looking and commenting!!

I think this is great look on you-love your leather coat:) For #3, you can def roll up jeans a bit further, may be to just above your ankle?

You look stunning! I think the jeans look works on you at that length, but I think it would also look great rolled up just a little more.

    CocoLion,
I absolutely love this whole outfit on you! That coat is so gorgeous on you! The whole outfit is BETTER than the model you were using as inspiration....and I love the scenery!

Great copy cat Denise. #1 looks great. That leather coat is fab. And I do like the jeans rolled in #3. Your gorgeous hair lends itself to this very cool laid back look too.
And I think I look less contrived than the girl in your inspiration shot - that's a good thing:)

I like the coat in #1 and the roll in #3. Great copycat. I do all my own painting but there are always awkward periods where it is not finished.

Ooooh, you look amazing! I love this copycat better than the original. You look uber chic. Well done :) The neon belt is brilliant!

One roll down in #3? Love the shirt with the jeans and belt.

#1 is SCD! (Super Cool Denise).

Really, really great! I love the simple pieces, elevated to total chicness with the rolled hem, yellow belt, and buttoned-up shirt.

I think you throw off a different vibe than your inspiration, but I like yours better!

Are you pretending to be in a mental institution in pic three or threatening SO that you are headed for one if he doesn't finish your house?!!? You do look pretty cool, whatever the case!

Denise - you are so uber cool, you don't even know it!

  • Mo replied 12 years ago

Awesome! And I hear you on the unpaved terrain - one reason I recently got 1" heeled boots to wear with my jeans.

  • Heather replied 12 years ago

Denise, you are a true inspiration.

  • rae replied 12 years ago

Your version is so much more interesting, Denise! That coat is TDF. I do think the extra roll looks that much better, but both versions are yummers - I am happy to see more distressed denim on YLF!

  • Jaime replied 12 years ago

The neon belt is what makes your version fly above the inspiration picture for me. You look so tall in your pictures - am I crazy or have you said you aren't so tall at all? Anyway, Angie said one roll down in 3 but going up might work too.

You are so awesome! Love your look so much more than the inspiration picture.

You are most def. cooler than the inspiration post. Neon belt is happy color.

  • catgirl replied 12 years ago

You are going to be MY inspiration!

  • Kirti replied 12 years ago

I like yours better than the inspiration too :-)

Awesome leather coat & scary cool mental institute patient - watch out girl interrupted.

  • Lisa replied 12 years ago

What a great coat! And a lovely classic look with a twist from the bright color belt.

  • Jonesy replied 12 years ago

I love these looks! You really add a level of chicness to the staid button down, I've gotta say. I really like the rolled jeans.
