WIWs Reflecting my FFBO Formulas

Hello everyone!  First I have to say if you happen to be watching the CBS evening news tonight (national edition), our restaurant will be featured in a story covering the economic impact of the government shutdown.  I declined to be interviewed as my brother is better/prefers doing that sort of thing.

1 -- I love me a tonal grey outfit!  Here worn with Angie's pick from NAS 2012, the sci-fi sweater.  Coral necklace worn near my face to brighten things a bit.
2 -- I've been reaching for this formula for going on two years now, easy and haven't tired of it yet.  TR boyfriend jeans + Report Marks neutral booties.  Here worn with a Breton stripe sweater from Zara and Bellatrix silky bomber jacket.  I have a black belt on to tie in with the black in the jacket plus my black backpack works here well (I forgot to include it in #2 but you can see a bit of it in #1).
3 -- Bonus shot of the original CocoLion, in case you were wondering about my forum name.  Doesn't she look good in the fall? What do you think, is she a Soft Autumn?  :-)

Thanks for looking and commenting!

You are gorgeous as always. Love the sweater, and your outfits always look effortless and perfect!

  • kellygirl replied 10 years ago

Ooh, I hope I get home in time to watch it. What time do you think it is on? Love both of these outfits. You do tonal so well and I have to say you are queen if the bf jeans. Why fix something that works perfectly?! Coco lion is adorbs!

  • pil replied 10 years ago

1 is a real stunner. I really like 2 as well, but find myself drawn to quieter looks lately for some reason. Of course I wore black and white with a graphic print shirt today - go figure!

CocoLion looks like a real sweetie. I was wondering how your business had been affected by the shutdown. (oops - glad I just caught a typo - There was an "i" instead of a "u" in shutdown - but that actually may have been apropos :) )

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

You are hilarious. Coco is either a soft autumn or a dark autumn, but she doesn't look as great as you do in the Report Marks booties.  :-)

LOVE both these outfits, especially #1 with that wow sweater! And you really do wear those Reports well. It's amazing how they work with hair like ours, isn't it? I've been looking for a bootie in this colour but with a more sleek opening. Let me know if you see one. I want a little heel like this (maybe a bit smaller, but no taller). The magic of bookending...it's real.

Well I will definitely try to catch that story this evening. First the fires, now the shutdown. You've been taking hits from all sides, haven't you?

But on the bright side, you look marvelous and just as fashionable as ever. That must do a lot to brighten the mood of everyone you meet. I love your FFBO formula, especially outfit #1. The coral necklace up by your face is brilliant. Give Cocolion a pat from me. So sorry I won't get to see you next week!

    Two gorgeous creatures :)
#1 is superb I just love these tonal looks on you.
#2 No wonder you haven't tired of this look - it's a great signature casual look imo.
#3 Could be a clear spring she looks great in that clear red :)

Always such stylish, relaxed and cool outfits Denise.
Our pets need no such embellishment do they?
In saying that my GSP. looks good in purple, and my black and white cat in red :)

  • replied 10 years ago

You are an alluring alien in that sci-fi sweater!  Love your formulas on you.  And kisskisskiss to the pretty four-legged girl.

Will see if I can wrestle the remote away from my husband.

  • Liz A. replied 10 years ago

Ha! Pic number 2 may answer my question in my topper thread.  I was feeling very Denise-inspired today.

  • Deborah replied 10 years ago

I love both #1 and #2 and I wonder if the fact that your haven't tired of this fab look is because it's such a reflection of you, perhaps personality wise and style wise  I see a real continuity in your style irrescpective of if your are dressing form home, a lunch out or a more formal function.  You know what works for you and your maintian such integrity with your styling.

What a gorgeous dog!  Such a beautiful colour , she looks like a real sweetie.

Beautiful! I always love your outfits, Denise. Even when they are tonal or simple, they have so much that is interesting (intriguing!) going on. BTW, how did I not know that you own a restaurant? Somehow that makes it even more apropos to say that you, my sweet, are a truffle in a world of white button.

Love CocoLion. Suddenly it all makes sense. Soft Autumn for sure. I just want to rub her ears!

    You've nailed your uniform.  If it ain't broke . . .
Speaking of uniform, were you by chance wearing a red top for the TV bit?  If so, I saw you just walking off camera at the end of the interview in the background.  Sucks what you guys are going through.  We've had off years at the pub due to a bad snow season but nothing as severe as all this.  Big fat bummer :(

  • replied 10 years ago

We just watched.  Your brother is so handsome, and he did a great job with the interview.  You two look a lot alike!  I'm sorry you're going through this terrible time.

  • JulieJohn replied 10 years ago

Love the outfits, Denise. You look magical in silver, and Suz speaketh wisdom when she applauded the power of bookending.

CocoLion is so beautiful, I wish I could play with her. She looks like the chocolate version of my dog, Penny.

  • CocoLion replied 10 years ago

My mom is taping it but yes there's a chance I showed up. I was wearing a red $6 H&M tee. Have learned not to spend a lot on work clothes they get stained quickly.

Thank you for the kind words about our family business. We will survive but two local restaurants are closing.

  • CocoLion replied 10 years ago

Julie we posted at the same time. Lol!!! Now I want to see a pic of penny please.

  • Mo replied 10 years ago

ah, yes, I hear you on the uniform wear and tear.  Here's hoping it's only up from here for you guys!

  • Transcona Shannon replied 10 years ago

    You two gals look gorgeous!

Denise, you are one of the main reasons I went and bought the TR's - you always make them look fantastic.

So sorry about the hardships you and your family continue to go through. Guess you'll be glad to say goodbye to 2013!

  • JAileen replied 10 years ago

Love #2 - I'm mad about stripes! And the fall color is nice too. #3 is adorable. Is she a chocolate lab? We used to have one. They're the sweetest dogs ever.

PS I'll watch the CBS News closely tonight.

  • MsLuna replied 10 years ago

I always watch out for your WIW's. Love this outfit! You know you wear greys/silvers very well?

  • Jaime replied 10 years ago

Love both of your beautiful outfits and Cocolion certainly knows how to wear a pop of color. Sorry about the restaurant and everything related to that though.

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

Popping back in to offer sympathies about the restaurant -- you have had one heck of a year. May the one ahead be much brighter.

  • Ingunn replied 10 years ago

Your outfits reflects your signature style. This is so very you. I love both outfits. Your style serves as a reminder to me about keeping it simple, because simple is better almost always, and you prove this with such casual elegance. The first CocoLion is a beauty, too. Soft Autumn sounds about right.

I'm very sorry to hear about your business struggles. Here's to a better year coming now!

  • catgirl replied 10 years ago

These are both beautiful - your FFBOs are such an inspiration to me, especially the way you get the fit of everything just perfect.

  • Neel replied 10 years ago

Love both the outfits!  The sci fi sweater is a beauty and steals the show!  The coral necklace does light up your face.  Brilliant combo!

And the bomber is quirky and cute!  The color combo and pattern mixing is so unexpected yet so perfect!

  • JAileen replied 10 years ago

I saw the news last night. I didn't realize you were right by the Rim Fire. So sorry about that, and then the government shut down on top of it. Hope next year is better. We had a week or two of such bad air quality from that fire that the school district cancelled all outdoor activities, from football games, to recess.

  • Angie replied 10 years ago

Your FFBOs are as stylish and trendy as ever. Signature and very Denise. Not nearly as boho as when you first joined the forum - which is a look you rock as well btw.

And Cocolion is as gorgeous as her Mama. I say she's a Warm Autumn and enjoys a minimal style that's texture-rich.

Sorry I missed your bit on CBS. Hope that your family business is recovering. xo
