WIWs Plus Keep or Purge?

1.  These are the only pair of colored jeans I have left, I sold most of my inventory on eBay last February but these Rag & Bones came back because I failed to notice a small pen mark on them.  Keep?  Purge?

2.  Same jeans worn the next day with a grey Splendid trapeze top that I'm thinking might go.  Just not that flattering and impossible to cover my bra. So the top = keep?  purge?

3.  Wore this to lunch at the local Mexican place, this bridged casual to smart casual easily.  The shoes are fairly beat up but I pulled them out of my garbage (!) because they are still useful to me.  The sole is visibly split... hmmm... should they go back in the trash?  I can also replace them, they are sold on Amazon for around $40 right now.

ETA -- 4.  Got two of these tops from Zara a few months ago.  They are loose and cool but the shoulder line looks quite unflattering I think.  I have plenty of other tops to wear, it's not like I need them.  Keep? Purge?

Thanks for the feedback!

I love you in skinnies so I'd have a hard time letting you let the blush jeans go. I think you look easy and breezy in all of these. I love the loose, unstructured fit of the blouse in 4. So cool! Love #3 too. You look fresh and so pretty in everything!

    ETA: Obviously, I'm no help!

I like the first pair of jeans. I would probably not keep shoes with split soles. The other tops, it's not a detailed enough pic to know for sure, but to me they're take 'em or leave 'em (which to most people would mean purge?).

I like those blush jeans on you, Denise.  Since they are a muted color they don't scream Spring 2012 and thus don't seem dated at all. I'd keep them.

Love your outfits....and I vote to replace the shoes that have split with the $40 ones.  If they're useful enough to pull out of the garbage then they're worth replacing!

I like the Zara tops and don't see an unflattering line at all. :)

Denise you are absolutely ethereal in the first outfit! The way your wisps of hair look with that necklace and the soft tonal look of the outfit....fabulous! Yes, by all means keep the blush jeans. It was meant to be. You know the poem: If you love something, set it free, if it was meant to be yours, it will come back to you? Here we have that in action, lol!

You can wear black and white as well as the soft tones (no fair) and I really love #3 as well. Those pants have just the right slouch, and that is the deceptively simple white top that we are all looking for but can never get just right. Love the coral necklace with it. If your shoes are broken, buy replacements if you love them that much. Our Denise should not have to wear shoes from the garbage!

To be honest, I'm not loving the volume of the grey tank or the neckline of the T in the last picture on you. They're not terrible, but like you said, you have plenty of other fab things to wear.

    What Claire said.

Love those blush jeans!  You look wonderful in them!

I like the blush jeans and vote keep! Love them in outfit 1. I'd let go of the trapeze top if it's not comfortable to wear. I really like the shape of it on you, but in comparison to photos 1 and 3, I find 2 less fabulous. I adore your look in photo 3. If your other shoes do not adequately take the place of those, then I'd replace them. I agree with Claire on the top in 4; not loving the neckline on you. I do, however, like the shoulder line and the overall shape of the top. I think the drop shoulder looks great, and it's a nice change of pace.

Keep the jeans, lose the trapeze top. I would replace the sandals, and I like the Zara Ts!

    You look fantastic in 1.

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

What Claire said. The jeans were meant to stay in your closet a while -- you look like a summer twilight in that outfit . I also love #3, and think you need to replace any shoe that you pull from the garbage. Or find a new updated version.

I am not in love with the tops in 2 or 4 for you; agree about shoulder line of #4.

  • Transcona Shannon replied 10 years ago

I think you look fantastic in those blush skinnies and should keep those. A great soft colour for your wardrobe.

Shoes with split soles have gotta go, although I positively LOVE the outfit in #3.

I think I agree with you about the top in #2 and #4 not being good enough for you.

  • Jaime replied 10 years ago

I love #1 - keep the jeans if only to wear that! Regarding the necklines, and particularly the Zara one, I relate. I love Zara tops this season but they seem to run low and wide in the neckline, which I don't like on me. I have an ombre blue linen Zara top with just that problem but I am keeping because I love the color. Anyway, that is not very helpful regarding advice so how's this: replace the shoes!

  • Janet replied 10 years ago

I vote: keep the jeans, purge the grey top, purge the broken shoes, and purge the Zara top (unless you want to keep for hanging around the house). You have other more fab ones!

  • Beth Ann replied 10 years ago

I'm with Janet, Denise!  You look amazing in #1 and #3, btw!

What are the details on the shoes that need replacing?  What brand are they?

  • Thistle replied 10 years ago

Blown away by #1! You look fabulous! I think the jeans are keepers.

  • christieanne replied 10 years ago

I like the jeans - a unique color and not screaming "trnedy". I am getting ready to purge my colored jeans but I wish I had this shade. Good for Fall with burgundy or dark purple?
The tank I would purge - I dislike the bra strap showing and it seems to overwhelm you. The other tops are ok but if you are uncomfortable, purge? Keep for use in the yard or loungewear capsule if they are soft.
    Shoes - purge!

  • Adelfa replied 10 years ago

    Hi Denise!

    1. the jeans are great and such a pretty color on you
    2. purge the top, it covers up your figure too much
    3. either replace the shoes or get others that fill the same function (nude-ish casual sandals) if you feel too bored of the style to replace
    4. I feel like there's something here that could be salvaged successfully. Maybe try the tops with non-jeans bottoms? The line is fluid and I don't find it unflattering. I've seen you in non-body-con outfits that worked beautifully.

  • ManidipaM replied 10 years ago

I agree with all who say that anything worth pulling from the garbage is worth replacing!

  • Lisa replied 10 years ago

I agree with Janice above.  And I really adore that blush color on you, I hope you start putting them into regular rotation.  It sounds like your style is maybe evolving and that's why the looser tops are not striking your fancy?

  • rachylou replied 10 years ago

This blush colour looks so good on you. Why were you sending them away?

  • annagybe replied 10 years ago

Keep the jeans! Agree with you on the tops.

  • Jjsloane replied 10 years ago

I like the blush jeans and LOVE #3 (but for $40 I'd replace the sandals)
