WIW -- Zara jacket and swap find

Hello and Happy Monday YLF!

I saw this Zara jacket on line and knew I had to have it. While I was in So. Cal for the YLF swap I stopped in a Zara and purchased it without hesitation. It is a lightweight sequin jacket that adds instant glamour to any outfit (I think). So easy.

Picture 1/2 -- worn last week on my day off
Picture 3 -- worn at swap at Vicki's house
Picture 4 -- from a few weeks ago, just sneaking this in because I love the way this tank fully covers my bra
Picture 5 -- swap blouse from Mary K! It feels so good to work in. Can I get you something cold to drink?

Thanks for looking!

Outfit details (if interested):
1/2 -- Jeans True Religion Cameron (purchased with Mo in Tahoe); striped top Rachel Pally via Shopbop; jacket Zara (size M -- my usual jacket size at Zara is an S); sandals Adrienne Vittadini via TJ Maxx. Very round sunglasses from Anthro.
3 -- Jeans and jacket Zara, top Willow & Clay via Macys, wedges DV via Endless.
4 -- Jeans True Religion Cameron via Shopbop; asymmetrical tank Aqua via Bloomingdales, Report Marks booties via Nordstrom
5 -- J Crew white shirt from swap; jeans AG via eBay; clogs "Sanita" via local work shoe shop; apron from Cash & Carry Modesto (I know how much you needed to know that one)

That jacket is a great accent! The colours go so well with your complexion.

That jacket is so cool, Denise, and I love how you've styled it with the striped tee and the distressed jeans! The tank is really pretty on you. I hear you about finding one that really covers your bra- not easy.

Even your restaurant outfit is cute! :-)

Love. love.love them all! The color blocked tank in 4 is divine on you. I love the shape and colors--so flattering. Great floral jacket although I can't see the sequins. I'll trust that they are there :)

Must get to Cash and Carry. I could use one of those aprons for meal times around here--although I doubt "May I get you something cold to drink" would ever come out of my mouth--it goes more like this "This isn't Burger King."

You look awesomely fab, Denise. I LOVE your style!

That IS a nice Zara find! You have such a way with cool casual tops and I love all your TR jeans. Great posing, too!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the way you rolled your jeans in #1 and #2, Denise!! I just adore that length of roll on jeans. It's utterly perfect!! SO flattering on the leg line!! And your striped floral combo is to live for!

Pant lengths are my thing so you got me ALL EXCITED AND SWOONING.

I need to recover from your off the charts style quotient in #1 before I comment any further.

That sequined jacket is beyond stunning on you - could not stop admiring it on you at the swap! I also adore all the iterations of boyfriend jeans. They are so perfectly slouchy yet slimming on you.

I love your new jacket and also love #4!!

Eeeeeeeeee! Denise you are sooooo stylin'! Just incredible breezy looks. They just sing. The pink floral and tan shoes against the black and white stripe, brilliant!

Urban Outfitters needs you as a stylist: they need saving from *The New Drab.*

Oh, btw, I'm taking the apron tips. I love little aprons, to my bf's chagrin. LOL. I walk around with them on the street.

The jacket was made for you! I've come to agree with you on the "buy it when you see it" philosophy. I'd rather have a few full-price but impeccable pieces than a closet full of reduced-price "almosts." Great fit on the bf jeans, too!

That floral jacket has sequins?? How incredibly fab! I can see why you bought it without hesitation. As always, your outfits are an inspiration!

Floral sequins?!?! LOVE! My favorite is #1.

Great jacket, and I'll take your word that it has sequins! You are rocking the BF jean to perfection. I'm making a note of the Angie-approved roll length and placement. You're such a ringer, Denise! ;)

Denise, it took all my self-control not to tear that jacket off your back at the swap! It is just. that. fab. I love all these looks and am especially thrilled that the bust-gaping J Crew button-front shirt has found a non-gaping home! :)

Rockin' the BF's Denise, -as nobody else indeed! Esp love the last one!!!

Having trouble getting past the Zara jacket! That is a fantastic purchase. I love it on you.
I also like the tank. Great colors and good coverage. another set of stellar outfit Denise. I'm noting the rolled jeans length!! Oh and I'd love a skinny soy decaf chai latte:).

  • Kiwichik replied 11 years ago

CL you are the mistress of the rolled jean. The jacket is cool but personally I'm rolling out the red carpet for that fab tank top.

  • Jonesy replied 11 years ago

What a perfect jacket! And what a perfect set of outfits! You look absolutely gorgeous and chic in these looks-you are Queen of Distressed Denim :). Love the pattern mixing and the loose, chic, effortlessly cool silhouettes. Fabulous!!

Way to go with that jacket and finding so many cool ways to wear it, when someone with less vision would think it is not that versatile! Love the tank, and the jeans and crisp white shirt make a super-sharp wait-person outfit. Holy-moley, the details matter.

Thank you everyone for the love you've sent my new sequin jacket! She is glowing from the praise and just might have to step out of the closet again later tonight. She does like attention!

My boy jeans are also grateful for the rolling praise! :-)

Honestly the Zara sequin has already started to show a few threads. Dang Zara and their fast-fashion workmanship. I have to say that H&M items, while also priced a little lower, are generally better made. But Zara is just spot-on-trend that I can't help myself and I'm willing to pay full price.

I love that top in #4 pic so much! It looks really beautiful on you. I do like the roll you are doing on your BF jeans! You encouraged me to roll my down more and then Angie encourage me to roll them down even a little more and I agree that it is more flattering. You mention that H&M items are more well constructed then Zara.....I just found out that H&M is coming to my local Boise mall and I am so excited!

  • Mo replied 11 years ago

Loving #4! That tank is so summer but still so you. Didn't know you'd gotten a 2nd pair of TR BF jeans - are they also 26's? (kicking myself that my 27's didn't work out and 26's are all sold out in that style!)
