WIW -- First Outing of Tuxedo Jeans

Outfit details:
Rag & Bone Tuxedo jeans
Fun & Flirt (Jr's via TJ Maxx) striped shirt
F21 Blue and Black tunic sweater
Vintage Shoe Co. flat-ish booties
Pendant from Shopbop

Although I live with three dogs, Maggie is my main girl and likes to get in the picture. Picture #3 shows her at age 9 weeks. Age inappropriate hair style proves this was taken prior to joining YLF.

You made me log back in! Fab outfit, Denise. I LOVE the stripes. The tuxedo pants are just too cool. Maggie is adorable : )

I cannot believe you can carry of three different types of stripes so well - the blouse, the sweater and the stripe on your jeans! You are my fashion hero :)

Denise, that is K to the POWER of K!!!! Seriously, one of your best outfits ever and probably one of the best on YLF although it's not my place to judge that. One of MY faves, anyway. LOVE the long leg line the jeans give you, even with almost flat boots.

I feel as if your minimalist style epiphany is leading you to some great things. You are working some pattern back into the mix but it is so artfully done that it doesn't feel like ALGO.

    Maggie is awfully cute, too.

Oh, okay, can you also tell us about the fit on the jeans? How do they feel?

Pass the smelling salts.....GIRL.... you are on FIRE!!! This outfit is so fab I can't stand it. The pants are THE BOMB!

So cool. So very cool. And I'm dying because rag & bone/JEAN doesn't work on me :(

  • Meredith1953 replied 12 years ago

You look so fine in those pants! Oh....and Maggie is super cute also. Your hair in number 3 may be age "inappropriate" but you look cute nonetheless with your cowboy hat!

Long and longer! And with horizontal stripes on top. Brilliant mix of stripes. And the teeny bit of orange in the bottom layered top? Love it.

Maggie is a sweet pup :)

  • rae replied 12 years ago

    Triple stripes! I love it!

Maggie is too adorable - those eyes in her baby picture just tug at the heart strings. She reminds me of the late dog of my BFF growing up - her name was Molly, and she was also a total sweetheart. :)

Great striped combo! Love the horizontal and vertical stripes together!

Maggie looks like a sweetie (both then and now). :)

This outfit is very interesting yet subtle. I love it. You are very creative. Your pup is adorable and so big. I think you look cute in your cowboy hat.

This is a fantastic outfit! And I love the puppy picture - my dog is called Maggie too.

  • Jem replied 12 years ago

wow, fantastic outfit! And, you are an expert pattern mixer with this outfit! I love all of the stripes together. Maggie is super cute and you still look fab even in your "inappropriate hair". lol

  • Joy replied 12 years ago

I've got a Maggie too! Denise your legs look miles long in those jeans. Love the stripe mix.

  • CocoLion replied 12 years ago

OMG! I had no idea Maggie was such a common dog name.

Thanks for your interest in my dog. Maggie is going to be 5 on St. Patrick's Day. She is a very athletic dog and it is still hard for her to calm down. But she has a heart of gold and stands up to her bossy older sister CocoLion (yes, that's why I have that handle). She used to sleep in my bed but now she is just too big.

Suz -- the fit of the jeans is very comfortable. I usually wear a 26 or a 27 in jeans and in Rag & Bone I prefer the 27. They stretch out and slide down a little but nothing a belt won't fix. I find that in the 27, the waist is the biggest part. These are made for a more of a rectangle than an hourglass but they still work fine on me with a belt. Fabric is soft. The length is 30".

    Those look amazing on you!

  • rachylou replied 12 years ago

Stunning, Denise! Just so incredibly artful the way the tuxedo stripe is echoed in the sweater sleeves. Is that you in #3? I don't recognize you...

  • replied 12 years ago

This is so fab Denise. Angie is going to love it! Your baby is so cute too. I love the cowboy hat! Do you still wear it?

  • MsMary replied 12 years ago

    SO FAB!! Love it all!

  • ManidipaM replied 12 years ago

AMAAAAZING! Good grief, Denise, if I had an outfit that looked so fab on me, I would wear it about thrice a week, every week of the month!

    Utterly BRILLIANT!

And Maggie's such an adorable pup!

(Psst! Also, tell NO ONE but I'm suddenly gravitating to pigtails and twin twist buns, a little Princess Leia-esque, 30 years after I last wore them to kindergarten! We'll discuss age-appropriateness another time, shall we?)
