WIW -- Do you ever wear something 2 days in a row?

Among my purchases for this past autumn-winter season, this Missoni for Target blouse is one of my favorites. So much so that I wore it for a few hours on Tuesday and then for the afternoon again on Wednesday.

Picture #1 is the blouse worn with an almost-orphan Talbots leopard sweater, 7FAM bell bottom jeans, a Linea Pelle belt and Express black clutch. This is my first time posting a picture using Picasa, I couldn't figure out how to get my head back in the picture.

Picture #2 -- the blouse is worn with another orphan sweater from Express via TJ Maxx, and my Rag & Bone cobalt jeans.

Picture #3 -- WIW today. Grey, green and black. The clutch is brand new! I am suddenly in love with the light weight of clutches, as well as the instant style they add to an outfit.

How about you, do you ever wear anything twice in a row or is there an *ick* factor?

What about clutches? Do you like them?

If it's not dirty, why not?

You are the denim queen around here. I love how you rock these new denim colors and shapes. I can't pick a favorite, but if I really truly absolutely had to, it might be the combination of the long patterned sweater with the green jeans. I am loving my new little clutch too. Fab week all around!!

I adore the leopard sweater with the missoni blouse! And yes, if I only wear something a few hours and it isn't dirty or smelly I may wear it again before laundering. I try to justify this by saying I am cognizant of water resources, but it is my time as much as anything that concerns me... Plus I feel there is no need to accelerate the aging of my clothes by washing unnecessarily. Haven't tried carrying a clutch yet! You have so many ideas that I appreciate...

Great colour coded positioning of the doggies.

Denise, I LOVE your style! #3 is KILLER.

(As Rita said, why not wear the same item again two days in row if it has not been soiled).

Love the pattern mixing, bell bottoms, colours and hectic coat! But best of all is the attitude that goes with your look. Those eyes, peering through your hair, and the smile. POWER :)

  • Jem replied 12 years ago

Sure, why not! My family doesn't care and especially if I'm not seeing the same people. :-) Plus, your outfits are completely different, so no one would even notice. When I looked at the pictures I was going to say that #1 was my favorite and then it was #2 and then I say #3! They are all fab! (and I'm jealous of your colored jeans)

No ick factor at all and I love clutches!

First the outfits look great on you!! I love the color of the pants in #3. I agree with modgirl that if the clothing isn't dirty and it looked great the first outing, then there is no reason not to wear it again. It's nice to change it up a little but not completely necessary.

  • rae replied 12 years ago

To work for 8 hours? No.

For pretty much anything else? Heck yes! I hardly ever see the same people twice on the weekends, so it's all good. It'd be a shame to get less use out of a beloved favorite for the sake of change you don't crave. Rock on with the awesome blouse!

I second your nomination for Queen Denim. Love the colors here and the pieces that support them!

Sure, in fact I just wore my sequin tank top two days in a row to work this week! I don't dry clean my clothes after every wear (only when they get dirty) so I don't see why it would be a problem.

You look great in all the outfits! Rock on with the colored denim and dramatic tops!

  • rachylou replied 12 years ago

You have such great style, Denise! #1 and #3 are *me*.

I really like the new giant envelope clutches. I got one, even tho I gave clutches up because I was always leaving them behind. So far so good this time around, knock wood!

  • Amy replied 12 years ago

You look great in all of these.

I often wear items over again the next day...not so much for work, though.

  • Diana replied 12 years ago

You look fab! I am so jealous of all of your gorgeous colored skinnies.

I don't wear the same items 2 days in a row if I'm going to be seeing the same people (like at work, although honestly I'd bet that none of them would notice... I am probably the only one at work who notices such things.) but I don't see anything wrong with it as long as the item is still clean.

  • MsMary replied 12 years ago

Yes, it's super common for me to wear the same outfit or parts of the same outfit all weekend. Or wear the top half of Sunday's jeans outfit to work on Monday with a pencil skirt.

And holy cow, Denise! You look amazing! I LOVE the animal print sweater with the Missoni zigzag blouse! I got a Missoni skirt in NYC and I can't wait to get home and try it out with a leopard cardi!!

ETA I haven't jumped on the clutch bandwagon yet because I don't travel that light. I like a bigger bag to hold my stuff. I also have an irrational fear of putting it down somewhere and walking off without it.

  • christieanne replied 12 years ago

I can see why you would want to wear that blouse often - it is fantastic and the you mixed it up, not even an issue that it was two days in a row. It's great!

Clutches are a good idea in my head (and I have a smaller day version I love) but always seem to get in my way. Your larger one is so chic!

  • replied 12 years ago

Ok, that does it. I'm looking at clutches in a whole new light thanks to you. I had mentally crossed them off my list, but no more!

I am CRAZY about #1! Those long, dramatic flares with the pattern mixing and pure fabness are killing me! Love the Missoni blouse again in #2 (and yes, I totally do what you do). The love sweater (coat) and high heeled boots are so stylish in #3. I don't think I've EVER seen you in a frumpy pair of shoes Denise. Rock on!

  • Beth Ann replied 12 years ago

Great looks! I'm particularly fond of the booties in #3! As for clutches -- I'm a nay for now. Too likely to leave it behind at the checkout counter, or in the pew. Besides, my would be stuffed!

  • CocoLion replied 12 years ago

Thank you ladies for all of the feedback on my outfits.

Claire, that is the nicest compliment I've ever received about my footwear!

Ladies who are on the fence about a clutch -- the best thing about it is I don't have a sore neck/shoulders at the end of a long day. I've been carrying a clutch now for 2 weeks and have not left it behind anywhere... yet. The biggest drawback is I have no room for my camera. (When my contract expires in August I'm getting one. Finally.) I pack a comb instead of a brush now, and keep a little bottle of hairspray for my wispy hair in my car.

  • Carole replied 12 years ago

I love how you remixed the top. Brillant pattern mixing and use of color, too. You are a master!

  • ManidipaM replied 12 years ago

Wow, Denise! I just started to write that I really admire the great animal print mixing *and* the sweet animals in #1, and then I saw #3 and nearly swooned. FABULOUS looks, all of them.

As to the shirt, I often wear the same thing days in a row --- as long as I'm not meeting the same people (bar the family; don't think they care). Since most of my days are spent at home, you bet there are a LOT of repeats. Not just single garments, either --- entire outfits!

  • taylor replied 12 years ago

I absolutely repeat certain items/ outfits!
    You always look FAB Denise!

  • Mander replied 12 years ago

I have no problem wearing something twice, as long as it isn't smelly!

I have had a bit of a love affair with clutches in the last few years, but only when I'm going out or to a formal event. I seek out the extra large ones to accommodate my "emergency flats" that I take when wearing heels in case my feet get too sore to walk home after the event.

  • Aunty replied 12 years ago

Heck but you look super fab in every single photo! If I hade to pick a winner I think it would be 3, but crickey it would be hard.

No problem wearing things a couple of times in a row. If they are clean and presentable why not?

  • replied 12 years ago

Not to work I don't. If I've wore something and it's not smelly, sure I will wear it again (why not?), but not to work.

  • MNsara replied 12 years ago

First, wearing something two days in a row? Absolutely, if it's 'wearable'! In fact, I'd prefer to 'use something up' and put it in the laundry than hang it in my closet and forget it's 'half-worn'. I rarely work the same location two days in a row, so that helps a LOT!

Now on to your outfits -- which are wonderful! Love the Missoni peeking out from the sweaters! Loving the variety of jeans - from flares to skinnies - you rock them all. And the clutch adds glam or something special that a regular handbag doesn't do. I must get busy and pull out an oversized clutch to try. The no-shoulder-pain is tempting too ;-)

  • Jonesy replied 12 years ago

On the weekends I do, for sure. Usually not work clothes.

You look fab in these WIWs, Denise! I especially love the silhouette in 3--love you in that longer coat, and the gray booties and clutch are awesome! I am really digging clutches too--they look chic to me, very streamlined.
