WIW -- Debuting new lunch/dinner sack clutch

I picked up this Marie Turnor clutch while shopping with MaryK in Pasadena.

http://shop.marieturnor.com/co.....dinner-red

This whole outfit is slouchy -- the slouchy top, pants, and a slouchy sack! But I think the crisp black-red-navy-white colors are conservative and keep the outfit from looking sloppy. Whoah, that's 4 colors for me, unusual -- but I think the top reads more white. Making it 3 colors which I feel safer about. :-)

I couldn't decided if I wanted to wear flat-ish Chelsea boots or my taller Newburys, what do you think?

1/2 -- worn with Chelsea boots
3 -- Newbury boots

Ooh, so cool, Denise! I love this slouchy look. I slightly prefer the Chelseas--I think the pants sit better around the ankles perhaps. Either way, you can't go wrong. You look AMAZING! Cool sack clutch too!

Love that "lunch sack" bag! I want one!

  • jen replied 11 years ago

    I love your style :)

Love it. Hard to discern a difference between the boots, so I say either works. Love the red cuff with red clutch. The top reads Black and white in photos, but I love it more since it's blue. Isn't white the absence of color (therefore doesn't count as #4)?

I like it with the chelseas! Great clutch, really fun shape.

LOVE this, Denise! So sophisticated, the way the bracelet echos the clutch...the slouchiness perfectly drapes your curves. Just love this! I think I like the Chelsea boots better; the drape is great!

I was lucky enough to see this baby in person, and it is SO fab. Love it with the striped top - so very French Woman Toting Her Lunch Sack. :D

Love the slouch. Love the clutch - great colour. I lean toward the Chelsea boots.

I swear you can do no wrong stylistically Denise! Fab - as usual. Love the clutch and I'm in favour of the Chelsea boots.

    KILLER Ms. Shopbop Slouch :)

(By the way, I suggested your title be Urban Pacific - how do you feel about that?)

I've seen that clutch all over blogs. You wear it best!!

  • Suz replied 11 years ago

Denise, this is SO fantastic!! I WANT THIS OUTFIT!!!!!

(sorry for shouting, but I mean, I seriously want this outfit!!)

Love the bag, the bracelet is fun. Both booties look great - works either way to my eye.

Are those new pants from H&M? (She says...hopefully....)

    Love the clutch, too.

I love a slouchy look all over - bring it on! You do the full slouch better than anybody else, we all should learn from you how to do it and not get lost in all that extra volume.
    Cool bag too!

  • Jaime replied 11 years ago

Just love this look on you, and will vote for flats so you can run around town flaunting it. And that bag is amazing!

  • annagybe replied 11 years ago

OOh oooh, are those pants a recent H&M purchase?
    Great look.

What I love about YLF is that I can have a down day due to allergies and hormones (or lack of the latter). And you guys can make me feel so much better. THANK YOU (yes I do need to shout that out).

It's like the seratonin effect of YLF.

So I went with the Chelsea boots because I thought, even though the heels is 2 inches lower, they were more leg lengthening. I think it's the way the scrunch falls. It is good to hear that you all agree!

Angie I saw the Marie Turnor bag on Shopbop first (of course, I spend way too much time browsing their site!) But they didn't have the larger one. I'm thinking it's a little too big for my size but I'm going with it. I usually prefer a 10" width in a clutch and this one's 12". I actually had to put more stuff in it to fill it out properly (my gloves did the trick).

Angie, I love Urban Pacific. I think I've already got the SF/LA part of the Pacific covered. Now I must travel to Portland and Seattle and do some recon work on the local styles so I can live up to this fab name!

Suz, I got the pants from H&M in mid-July. They were spendy for H&M -- $49! But I love the way they drape.

So stunning. Your signature style evolves with every season, and yet has this wonderful thru-line, like the plot of a great play. LOVE the clutch!

  • Tina.b replied 11 years ago

Denise, so amazing! You are able to achieve the perfect about of slouch in both the top and bottom, that this look is so balanced. And that clutch is divine, like a luxe paper bag, I mean that in the best sense. I may need one myself. Going to browse...

I just got a pair of new slouchy trousers that I need to decide to K/R and you've inspired me to try them with a slouchy top.

  • Ariadne replied 11 years ago

Can I ask where you got the Chelsea boots and what brand/style they are? I've been searching for some like that.

  • Asingh replied 11 years ago

    That clutch is so cute!

  • Deborah replied 11 years ago

Stunning! I prefer the Chelsea boots as they do seem to work with the hems of the pants better. I cannot tell you how fab I think that clutch is...I so want one:).

  • CocoLion replied 11 years ago

Ariadne -- the boots are from Vintage Shoe Co.

I love them! Worth every cent, I got them last fall. As you can see from the side view they have a bit of a Western/Vintage shape, but I'm OK with that and it makes them quite comfortable to walk in. On Line Shoes frequently gives coupons so check a site like RetailMeNot.com.

  • Janet replied 11 years ago

I love the whole look, and that bag is so cool! I want one. I just wish they'd make it in cobalt blue since I am in the market for a fab new cobalt bag and I'm being extremely picky!

  • Scarlet replied 11 years ago

That clutch is so fun! I was eyeing pants like that from HM online. Seems like the perfect thing. Both boots work to my eye but give off slightly different vibes. The first one seems more street.

  • Scarlet replied 11 years ago

Actually, after checking, the ones I saw on H&M were polyester--that's why I didn't get them. Both those ones you have look like a better fabric.

  • MsMary replied 11 years ago

ZOMG this is your best, most fab outfit ever!! LOVE!! And the bag is just too, too amazing!

    *dies*

I had missed this thread earlier. Glad I saw it, Denise, you look great in these pants and how you've styled them. Now I am even more interested in getting those new slouchy track pants/trousers that Angie brought to our attention.

That clutch is awesome and adds the perfect punch to the B&W outfit. The texture reminds me of the Matt & Nat japanese paper line (which I love).
