WIW -- Black, my travel color

A few shots from last week in San Francisco. I spent plenty of time in dressing rooms as you can see!

1 -- My Bubba trucker vest (Levis) over leather moto. Do you like it more like this? It was seen as too oversized last time.

2 -- My R13's are getting worn A LOT!

Thanks for looking at so much black.

I love them both! I think the jacket looks fab in #1. And you KNOW how much I love that clutch!!

Both outfits are stunning Denise! You look so chic!

  • Beth Ann replied 11 years ago

Love #1 -- it's supposed to be oversized, and it's not overpowering. #2? Plonk.

Wow, Denise, those pants are fantastic on you! So glad you're using them a lot, they're fabulous on you! They're a hero piece in your wardrobe, for sure..

Love them both, especially the pants they are just too fantastic:)

The vest over the moto looks fine, but if that's the same moto in #2...why would you want to cover that AWESOME jacket?!

Luv the whole outfit in #2. You are so cool and chic, I can't stand it!

Love both outfits... oversize but I think that is just a different look as opposed to looking 'odd' or whatever on you... yeah those pants are cute too...

Very fashion forward to me Denise, in a great way.
I am quickly adjusting to the more relaxed fit in pants, and judging by Angie's recent blog on longer vests, will be seeing this silhouette alot this Winter in my hemisphere.

Thanks for all the love ladies! I am SO into vests right now. The vest over the jacket just feels very me plus it's perfect for CA spring weather. A couple of people stopped me to ask where I got the jacket, then they realized it was two pieces. Here is a picture of a vest that I wouldn't let myself buy from H&M. Because I have a rule, if I'm going super trendy, the item has to scream quality to edge it towards age appropriateness. So no pleather white biker vest for $35 for me. Which means, I have to pay way more. Which means, I have to really think if I want it.

I really like that vest over the moto. I wouldn't have thought of that but its good!

  • Deborah replied 11 years ago

Denise, these two outfits are so you! Love them. And I'm quite happy to look at black clothing all night lol. The cross over pants are just fabulous, I hope I can find a good pair here for winter :)

I like that vest with *and* without the moto under. Your travel capsule is great - so urban chic. The differently textured blacks are awesome together.

  • lyn67 replied 11 years ago

WOW, nr. 2 is a show stopper:-)

  • Raisin replied 11 years ago

Your style is very inspirational for me! Love your outfits, Denise!

  • Jaime replied 11 years ago

Great outfits - love your red bag and love your R13s!

Such creative statements, Denise. They are both fabulous combinations and fun to see in real life rather than a catalog. Pajamas are de rigeur around here.

  • Suz replied 11 years ago

LOVE those pants on you. Oh wow.

As for the pleather vest, you are messing with my (secret) plan to check out H&M pleather vests for myself...oh dear, you are too right, it will not be age appropriate. Sigh...

Although that one looked pretty good on you!

  • jayne replied 11 years ago

Love outfit 2. But still not loving the big vest. You look so tiny in it. But then, that is the point of oversized right?

  • Claudia replied 11 years ago

Those pants just kill me every time I see them on you. That's all.

  • Angie replied 11 years ago

Both outfits are KILLER! You are a very stylish traveler, complete with daytime clutch :)

I liked the way you wore the trucker vest before and now. It suits you Ms. Shopbop!

Also, I replied to your blog comment yesterday. I said:

Cocolion, don’t despair! Your style is a hobby and creative outlet. That counts for a lot too. Mtgirl makes a great point.

    :) xo

After seeing this I want to ditch everything in my closet for black (and a bit of white). It is my favourite combination and you've done it brilliantly! The shape of the jacket and the jeans on you just elevates that outfit. My favourite outfit on you to date!

Also the vest is brilliant over the moto. Love the length it creates to balance your long legs. Perfect!

  • kellygirl replied 11 years ago

Denise, you have your style down. Love both of these. I saw the Trucker vest at Nordie's last week and thought of you. Not everyone could pull it off but you certainly can! LOVE the crossover jeans. You have me hankering for a pair--but I will refrain and enjoy them on you.

ETA: I love your shopping strategy.

  • Aida replied 11 years ago

LOVE them both!! Super fun Trucker vest (Nordies you say? I must check that out), and every time I see your awesome black leather jacket I want one just like it.

  • replied 11 years ago

Ack, you are so chic, I can't stand it,

  • Parsley replied 11 years ago

    Both outfits look great!
You're making me want an oversized vest in the worst way.
    Love those cross-over pants!

  • Vicki replied 11 years ago

Love both outfits and what an edge layering with the vest brings to your first outfit. I love those pants, too, and could see Marley in them, as well.

Your explanation on the white pleather H&M vest was great, because it looks phenomenal on you in the photo, as well as age-appropriate, but I can see why you would want the quality there to hold its own in a timeless way, no matter how trendy.

  • replied 11 years ago

Amazing! I'm drooling over your moto jacket.
