Very basic lilac with burgundy outfit.

Featuring my bargain H&M sweater, and destructed Rag & Bones from 2013. Mules and bag are from the more recent 2 seasons.

I think burgundy is nice with lilac, what do you think?

Close up was taken outside. The lilac color is making me inexplicably happy and in a fresh spring mood.

The lilac is beautiful on you!

  • Joy replied 6 years ago

    Love these colors on you..

My word, I love the lilac with burgundy! You look fab.
I wear a lot of burgundy so this is great inspiration for me. I think your burgundy might be more on purple/aubergine end of the spectrum than the red end? It tones really well with the lilac.

What a brilliant combination! Perfect for early spring.

ooh, nice, Denise. -- not basic bitch look at all ;-)

  • replied 6 years ago

Wow - I LOVE this color combo , although it has a plummier look on my screen ( which I like ) . I need an inexpensive sweater just like this to get me through the next month or two until the weather breaks ....

  • Roxanna replied 6 years ago

I have mixed pink with burgundy but never lilac ... You've inspired me to try this! And those shoes are divine :)

  • Murph11 replied 6 years ago

INSPIRATION! Love these two colors together!

Lisa P , Brooklyn-- The burgundies I've purchased definitely have a plum aspect to them.  And the sweater brings out the purple too.  I love my cheap sweater.  I've worn it twice with great happiness, it's super soft.  I may only get two more wears out of it but I'm ok with that!  When I was at H&M a month ago, I asked the SA where I could find lilac items, and she led me to this, which she said "has been here a long time."  Like that made it bad?  They have a basics section, that's where I find a lot of camis, tee, sweatshirts, etc.

UmmLila -- I'm not sure I understand what basic bitch is but I'm glad you saw where I was going with my headline.  ;-)  I am millennial clueless!

efbgen -- The bag is from Botkier.  Unfortunately they don't have my model anymore.  I need a big bag for work.

Kellygirl, RunCarla, Joy, Pil, Roxanna, Murph11 & Rachy-- Thanks!

Angie -- Much love to you too!

Fantastic way to combine colors. And I love your eye makeup - you look fab!

  • CocoLion replied 6 years ago

Shevia -- Thanks!  My eye make up is inexpensive.  I use these items.;psc=1
L'Oreal Brow Plumping Gel -- recently discontinued.  In fact the above mascara is getting scarce.
Q tips are my essential styling tool to perfect the eye liner.

Kate, Firecracker and Sharan -- Thanks I'm not always confident about wearing cool colors, thinking warmer tones are better.  But a make up artist once told me I have both in my skin tone so that makes me think I can pull of cooler tones like lilac.
