Things I've Ordered Today - UPDATE at bottom of thread

Hello Dear Friends,
It's that time of year and like others who have been scarce on the forum I'm popping back in to draft off the excitement of NAS.  I've ordered many practical items (underwear) but a wildcard as well.
Practical:
Wirefree bras!  My beautiful Simone Perele lace underwire bras are being neglected for these comfort focused wire-free bras and their matching bikinis.
Wildcards:
All Saints lug sole chelsea boots. And platform rubbery slides.
Color focused:
After branching out with earth tones this past year, I have not felt happy in them so it's back to pastels, whose selection is shrinking after 4-5 years of popularity.  So I'm still purchasing wherever I can find my favorite lilac (see Alo hoodie).  The Caslon items are a little rosier but I thought I would see how they look on me.  The Rails sweater adds a bit of earthy dirt to my pastel collection so we'll see if it can bridge a few wardrobe items.
Bootcut jeans in Petite length:
After a depressing doctors appointment proving I'm a full inch shorter, I now need look no further than the petites department.  Height was never on my side but now there's no question I am short, having moved from just under 5'4" to definitely less than 5'3"
Not NAS but filling a wardrobe hole:
My lilac Fly London sneakers have literally torn at the seams I've worn them that much so I'm trying these two replacements from Blackstone and Vintage Havana.

CocoLion, it is always a treat to see you post and you have picked some lovely items that look so true to your style. As a fellow lover of lilac, I hope these items work well for you as you look stunning in this colour. The Rails cardigan is a great way to wear lilac and earth tones together.

Denise, you have such a good eye!

  • Kathie replied 2 years ago

Beautiful capsule of coordinating items! I hope the Caslon items work, even if a bit of a departure from a true lilac. The sneakers are fabulous- perfect match with the cozy sweatshirt!

  • Lana replied 2 years ago

Love Blackstone and Vintage Havana!  Both great brands.

  • kkards replied 2 years ago

CocoLion, great to see you.  I always think of the sale as a sort of Reunion here at YLF.

That Natori bliss bra has become my go to. Hope it works for you
love the lilac and soft colored items you’ve found.  And i really like the idea of the rails cardi to bring the pastels and earthy colors in your closet together
snd the stompy boots are fab!
don’t know either of those sneaker brands so hoping you report back and let us know if either works

So true about NAS reunions! But once a sister of the fabberhood, always a sister. These items look right up your amazing style way. And thank you for sharing, taking a second look at the bras.

Pretty pieces! Cool sneakers. Well presented write up :)

Great selections and color analysis! I do love you in pastels and hope that the sneakers work out for you. I'm loathe to try anything new these days because I hate having to return so it's refreshing to see new to me brands and hear how they fit.

  • VintageDawn replied 2 years ago

beautiful color scheme! Looking forward to hearing how everything works for you!

  • Debbie replied 2 years ago

I can’t wait to see how it works out. Love everything.

Thank you for reading through my thread and providing feedback friends.  I really appreciate the warmth I get here even though I've been quite absent for many years.

Kkards, I purchased the Natori Bliss Perfection during last year's NAS and liked it so much I went back and purchased it again at full price.  All of the other wire-free bras are new to me so I will report back how they are.

There was a TV commercial a few years ago for a start up bra company and the young actress in the ad (where it stated she was a 32DDD or something large like that) said "I do not have the time or patience for an underwire bra anymore."  I feel exactly the same way and would laugh every time I saw this ad.  I don't even remember the name of the company but it could have been Knix.

And all of a sudden I want lilac sneakers and those rubber slides .

  • Ana replied 2 years ago

Hi Denise!! So good to see you again! The lilac sneakers are amazing.

  • Suz replied 2 years ago

That looks like a beautifully colour cohesive order, Denise. Wishing you luck and hope to see the winners!

I always think that Ummmlila and yourself suit lilac so so well!

Especially like that cardigan and the lilac footwear.

Let us know how you get on - lovely to see you pop in!!

I love the colors you have above. That sweatshirt color is a particularly pretty shade to me. I hope your move back to the pastels gives you more happiness.

  • Jaime replied 2 years ago

So nice to see you! I have yet to find the comfortable wire free job that does its challenging job, but if I did I would be all over it. Love the lilac color story in your finds!

  • Angie replied 2 years ago

NICE lilac stash! Some top picks too! Got to milk our favourite colours when we see them :)

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 2 years ago

I like your picks, and as Suz said, they look cohesive. The Rails cardigan caught my eye across the floor at the store, but I was distracted by something and didn't get back to check it out. It wouldn't fit in my wardrobe as well as I picture it fitting in yours, anyway. I just thought it looked really cool.

  • Runcarla replied 2 years ago

I like your choices, especially the sweater.

  • UmmLila (Lisa) replied 2 years ago

I was admiring those sneakers, too. I love all your color choices

  • Nadya replied 2 years ago

Such pretty colors! I’d  been thinking I may need to take a pause on my beloved earth tones and get some balance with other colors, and this convinced me.

  • Elise replied 2 years ago

    I love the lilac theme!

  • CocoLion replied 2 years ago

Wow, thanks for the support!  I am so excited to start receiving the items, even the 10 or so underwear I'm expecting.

Sharan, I'm really glad you noticed the sweater at the store.

    UPDATE 7-19-22

    I received everything!
Proof bra and bikini -- On the fence about the bra. Still considering.
Natori Bliss Perfection set -- Winners!  Note the color is MUCH brighter than pictured.  Size 32C is perfect, for whatever reason this design seems to me to run large.  32D-32DD is my usual size depending on weight fluctuations
Wacoal wire-free bra -- The 32D is very small!  Normally I size down in Wacoal but this one I need to size up in.  Returning for a size 32DD.
Allsaints boots -- Winners!  Keeping!  Size 37 works for my high volume/narrow heel feet.  I just have to put up with extra length in the toe box for them to fit everywhere else.  Not a deal breaker since I don't trip over myself when wearing them.  Takes a little work to get on and off.
Mia Slides -- Really cute but they run large, the size 6 is too big and it's even too wide for my feet (which never happens).  Not available in a 5.
Rails Josie sweater --  Probably keeping, ordered XS but think I might need an S.
Alo Hoodie -- Great color, keeping.  S size is good.
Caslon "Twin Set" -- Thermal scoop LS tee and drape collar knit blazer.  Perfect fit in XS.  Color is darker and browner than pictured, returning.  Just not a high happiness factor color for me.  Fit is good for someone my height (5'3")
Joe's Petite bootcut jeans -- out of the box size seemed good but they stretch out 2 sizes.  However I've already worn them twice so I'm keeping them.  They will be my baggy bootcut jeans worn low on the hip.  Isn't that a look now?  The fabric is soft and stretchy like Frame.  But unlike Frame, they stretch out much more.  Frames stretch out half a size.
Purple Sneakers -- In love with both.  I haven't decided which pair to keep!

  • Suz replied 2 years ago

Sounds like you did really well, Denise -- yay! I particularly appreciate the bra reviews. Still waiting on the ones I ordered.

  • merwoman replied 2 years ago

Great review! How often is purple footwear available? Keep both pairs!

  • VintageDawn replied 2 years ago

That's a pretty good 'keep' ratio in my book.  Thanks for the tip on the joe's jeans, I ordered them as well, but not sure I'm going to keep if they stretch that much.

I also say keep both sneaker pairs, from the pics they look like very different shades of purple.

  • Angie replied 2 years ago

Wonderful, Denise! Thanks for the helpful reviews!

SOOOO glad the black boots worked! And can you wear the lilac sneakers to work? I hope so. Make it part of your new uniform :)

  • unfrumped replied 2 years ago

Thank you for the reviews! Glad some things worked for you.
I was drawn to the the Caslon “Purple Mellow “ color because some odd fusions of fuchsia/mauve/ rose work for me better than true lilacs or purples. But perhaps will be too muddy.
