Inspired by Anna: My version of the boring comfortable outfit

OK, I don't think my version is like Anna's but she did inspire me to post it even though it is nothing special.

Thermofix sweatshirt - Zara
Boyfriend jeans - True Religion Cameron "Baja" wash
Booties - Report Marks

Super simple, super comfortable.  I added a silver leather bracelet later in the day.  I almost returned this top because, a month ago, the forum preferred the other Zara white sweatshirt.  But TinaB suggested keeping both.  I am so glad she did, I love both of them but especially this one!

So -- style questions.  What do you think of this cropped boxy top proportion?  And paired with bf jeans rather than skinnies (mildly volume on volume)?  I would have worn these with another, lighter pair of bf's but I'm at my bf's and didn't bring many clothes.  :-)

Love it! And I'm honored. I eyeballed those TR's once. They look great on you.

    Anna, you always inspire me!

I've seen the TRs on eBay lately, in case you are tempted.  These are 2 sizes down from my skinny jean size.

I think the volume on volume works here because it's mild. Looks comfy too!

You can definitely do the volume on volume look, you're very slim.  The pants don't look too voluminous though, looks great!

Denise, I love this (and I loved Anna's inspiration too).  Because the jeans are still quite slim lined, I don't find this look to be too much volume on volume.  I find the top so attractive.

You really pull off the volume on volume look.  You have the perfect figure for it, and you really styled it well. Great inspiration from Anna.

Fab volume on volume Denise! I can see this sweater working well with more conventional skinnies with rugged boots, too, but the BF jeans look much trendier to me. If you wore more pencil skirts, I think it'd also look pretty fun with a high-waisted one and some mid-calf boots :)

    Great suggestion Aida!  Thanks.

How fun! I love the shape of that top--it looks so fashion forward. I like how you paired it with the BF and made it your own. Looking good, Denise!

Love this, Denise!  Great outfit!  Not so much volume on the bottom, at least in the pics.  This outfit totally rocks!.

Are those green and red patches behind the holes in your left knee?

You have totally pulled this off Denise!

I am just thrilled that you kept the sweatshirt, the shape is SO fantastic. It is the perfect length so that it doesn't overwhelm. And you sparkle in white. Love it paired with the jeans. Am fascinated with the pops of colour from behind the holes, I want to do that!

You look great! There is plenty of structure in the jeans so it's not an outfit with doubled up volume to my eye. I'm glad you kept both sweatshirts :). The ones at the Gap at the moment make me think of you too.

How did you create the pink and green peekaboos in the jeans? Sweet!

Love this. The bf's are slim enough (or you are) so the top doesn't overwhelm. I would never think you are around my height if you had not mentioned it somewhere, you always look so tall to me.

Not boring at all - YLF!

Angie and Isis and Tina, the color is from Mexican blanket fabric which forms patches behind the distressing and holes in the jeans.  So, nothing I created, it was all (artfully) done for me.

After trying some DIY distressing, I have new-found respect for both the designers and the seamstresses/technicians who make these.

I really like this Denise, it is effortlessly cool!

Not too much volume at all!  I think the bfs balance the boxiness of the sweatshirt quite well.

Mostly, I notice that you look fab......and warm.

That's the word - effortless - you look so comfy, stylish and effortlessly fab in the outfit!
